There has been a number in burglaries in South Trafford, including a break‑in in Hale and a lock‑snapping burglary in Sale. Please stay alert and strengthen home security.

Unknown offenders wearing black clothing and balaclavas, riding what appear to be Surron bikes, were seen on CCTV in and around a property in Hale before gaining entry through a downstairs window.

In Sale, burglars snapped the rear patio door lock to get inside. We advise you to take extra precautions, especially around door security and access points.

Anti‑snap locks — Fit locks rated Sold Secure SS312 Diamond or 3‑star Kitemark to resist snapping attacks.

Recessed cylinders — Ensure the lock barrel doesn’t protrude, reducing leverage for offenders.

Gate and access checks — Regularly inspect gates, side entries, and any weak points around your property.

With the warmer weather please ensure that all doors and windows are secure where possible before going out.

Neighbour vigilance — Look out for unusual behaviour, especially individuals wearing face coverings or appearing out of place.

Appears not to have a legitimate reason to be there- Builders/workers tend to be there during the day and delivery drivers only go to the front door for a short period of time.

If you feel someone is acting suspiciously on your neighbours property we encourage you to contact Police immediately. Our officers will attend, stop the individuals, and ask them to account for their presence and conduct searches if appropriate.
